Pretending to be worth a lot by being able to afford to pay someone to mow grass?

Sorry you're poor.

And what's your problem with people being able to spend their time the way they'd like to? I'm also very, very impressed that you know some wealthy people, whatever the frick that means.

Ignorant statement.

A lot of those guys do really well if they have even a little common sense and run it like a business. Think about the cash money they are making at $40 a pop if they have decent equipment and can knock out 15-20 yards per day which is possible.

A friend of mine goes all over the state cutting low-income housing projects. He has a crew of 5 counting himself and some really nice Skag mowers. They cut like 100-200 yards per day in some neighborhoods. He is killing it.

I have 4 grass set ups of my own for the repo houses I manage and I do pretty well off of grass during the Summer. It's not the majority of my income but it does provide decent operating capital. My guys cut 112 yards last week in Lafayette and another 42 in Lake Charles. You do the math.

Pretending to be worth more than you are by sayin your time is just so valuable.

nothing at all. Bc saying "I don't like cutting grass" is a little different than saying you're worth too much to cut your own grass. I.e. your time is just too valuable.

It means maintaining your property has no correlation with your value. And to cut you off with your typical generic OT response of

The OT try hards are pretty predictable.

Seriously, what the frick is your problem? You seem pretty insecure. I happen to work quite a bit. When I'm not working, I prefer to be relaxing and/or spending time with my family. I'm not wealthy by any means, but I happen to do well enough to permit me to pay a little extra for some things that I'd prefer not to do. Sorry you have a problem with that.

Again, you seem very sensitive. It's odd. My time is valuable to me. Certainly more so than doing something like mowing grass.

What does this even mean? Talk about OT try hard.

You should talk to someone about your sensitivity and insecurity issues. It's not only pretty childish, but it's slightly psychotic and slightly feminine.

okay straw man. You seem a little too riled up to be calling someone sensitive and insecure...

I talked to a guy a month ago that was near where I was working, he told me he had 140 yards and it was just he and his son at a minimum of $50 a yard. He works a 2 week cycle on all of them. He and his son are bringing in AT LEAST 3500 a week with little to no equipment costs, he said he buys a new Scag every 3 years while trading in the old one, and gas costs.

Nearly $100k if not more per year for he and his son without having to kill themselves is pretty nice living.

And during the Winter downtime they can either take it off or work and make more.

Another friend of mine had a grass business a long time ago. He used his time off during the Winter to buy repos and fix them up and owner finance them. The guys is a multi-millionaire now living off of "mailbox money" He has over 60 owner financed properties and just bought an apartment complex.

Yep, it's part of the rent. Just the same, I'm saving almost $1,000 per month less renting vs. owning--about $11,000 per year. That money I into mutual funds and stocks that have gone up in value about 9% per year over the past 2-3 years.

I'm doing just fine. Have no interest in owing another home, ever.

No matter what, I'm happy to watch someone else mow the damn grass.

I pay someone to cut my yard because I don't have the time any more. Plus if it rains on the weekend(the only time I'm home) I am screwed the next weekend. Its not always people being try hards.

$20 is dirt cheap.

Most will charge $40-$50 on average.

I pay $40 a week for a service to cut my parents lawn and that includes prepping the flower beds once every spring.
