It depends on the girl. Assuming a good day and not counting my bartenders they make $40-$60/hr

Well to be fair, the waitresses work harder than teachers. The waitresses don’t get “in service” days. The waitresses don’t get three months off. Or two weeks At Christmas. And the waitresses can’t take a weather day off.
So yeah, they deserve more money than teachers.

The realization that “movie days” were for my HS teachers’ hangover recovery was a game changer

It depends on if they get tables with baws, or Europeans, and other non-tipping groups.
If they get all baws, they can do pretty good.

Can you please breakdown walk ONS sales?
Assuming 2 shifts
Maybe 10 servers per shift
Restraunt open 86 hrs/week.
Add in 2 hrs a day for prep/clean up.
Servers there 100 hrs / week.
10/shift.
So, 1000 hrs servers work per week.
Midpoint of your range is $50/hr.
That's $50k/week in server pay.
Assuming 20% tip(generous) that's $250k/week in sales.
That's $35 k/day.
Seems rather high to me.

I know waiters at Ruth Chris or Commander's palace make good money, but I can't see Walk-Ons
With all the hardlegs grabbing beers after work at the plant it really shouldn’t be all that surprising.
Maybe not Ruth Chris money but I’m sure they do well.

They can make a lot. Since they wear the cheerleader uniforms and sell a lot of beer, they do well

Exactly.
I'd bet that's $20k or more for teachers.
Government TIT teachers package cost a whole lot more than that. Not to mention payroll tax exemptions.
Teachers make a lot of money for what they do, especially if they stick it out for 30 years. It is great pay for a part time job with minimum degree requirements.
Sure some teachers outperform their pay, but it is a small percentage of them. You fix that by paying better teachers more money, and you get their by getting government out of schools.

If it’s accurate, why doesn’t the mom just quit teaching and work with her daughter at Walton’s?

Probably because she's 50 and her daughter is 22
