FIFY
Duke is a top 10 school

There are currently 10 attorneys at Cravath from Duke
There are currently 7 attorneys at Wachtell from Duke

Should I go on?

Ya, young partners maybe still even be under 200k but that range is probably good.

Of course this all depends if you are a badass and own your market. There are some folks making upwards of 700 to a mil.

Also for OP

Working for Phelps you are still going to bust your balls hardcore. It wont be much better than Big Law in NYC from a time perspective....

Depends on the division you are in and whether you are a junior partner or part of the managing partner cadre at both.

350K is about right plus with Phelps, they used to have an incentive program as well for the JP's. Get ready to spend very looooooong nights especially if you go into the NOLA office. Baton Rouge is not as bad. Much the same at Jones Walker without the incentive program.

Unless you love New Orleans I don't see the point.

It's not like New Orleans is a cheap place to live. It's cheap compared to NYC, but so are a lot of other places that actually have sizable legal communities.

Running a partnership gauntlet to make 300-400k as equity partner sounds like a shitty idea if you can do the same in Dallas or Houston or wherever for double that. Of course, when you burn out on big law and want to go in house to make 200k, you'd be better positioned to do that too.
