I'm not a libertarian in the purest form. They believe in open borders and almost no military. I'm really more of a Rand Paul type conservatarian

Why do you believe in open borders?

Questioning the actions of our bloated and self-interested government over the course of the last half century doesn't equate to a lack of patriotism. Loving your country and wishing better from your federal government aren't mutually exclusive concepts. No one has cornered the market on being a true American. Blindly accepting everything the government does and shaming those who question it is about the most un-American thing you can do.

Good thing I never said that, then

Never did this, either.

half-true. before I went post-libertarian, I always favored closed borders.
Ron Paul favors closed borders.
Hans-Hermann Hoppe favors closed borders.
Lew Rockwell favors closed borders.
Murray Rothbard (R.I.P) favored closed borders.
you can favor either one and be libertarian.
libertarian means voluntary. it is not voluntary to allow people into your country when you don't have true private property rights on your private property. for that reason, there is nothing wrong with supporting closed borders as a libertarian.
Rand Paul probably favors closed borders too but for other reasons kind of fails at being a libertarian... might be the only way to get elected though.

I love this country to the deepest parts of my soul, but I don't like the way it's being run. Does that make me less of a patriot?
Just a general question that goes along with what you posted. Not trying to debate anything you posted.

I know. I was mostly making a general statement but also somewhat referencing your "apologizing" statement. I think Americans of every walk of life, and every political persuasion need to understand and recognize that the American government has commissioned some foolish if not egregious acts in recent history and isn't and never should be above reproach.

I misread it. I had to read again. My apologies

Who the frick hates the 4th of July? I went to a boat parade then left to go to a friends house where we hung out, drank, ate some BBQ and popped fireworks throwing black cats into a ditch with some water in it to watch them blow up in water and other silly shite we did when we were kids.. It's one day where you get to celebrate freedom and do silly shite.

Understood.

Granted. As has every other nation on the face of this earth.
Other sovereign nations' leaders don't go around apologizing for it, though, and neither should we. We're not perfect, but we're also not spineless. That was where I was coming from.

You should have just posted this and left it at that.
Because nobody gives a shite about all this:

The point is that that is the type of shite you do on the 4th, why would anyone not want to celebrate freedom?

So what are things that, according to you, are acceptable for us to apologize for? And can you please point out specifically what things we have apologized for that we shouldn't have?

I think our president is an embarrassment, but this country is greater than one person. And the beauty of it is, we have the freedom to disagree with the way things are being run and still be a patriot.

Liberals hate everything that America stands for, so I would guess the 4th is an uncomfortable holiday for them to live through.
Posted on 7/5/17 at 8:03 am to kywildcatfanone
I don't think every liberal feels this way but the majority are misguided by the liberals that do believe.
What they think will improve this country and what I believe will are different things.
