The Democratic system is all about control. Controlling education, industry through green laws and regulation, your money though taxation, what you can say, how you can defend yourself. I have my problems with Republicans too but the left's entire platform is about controlling others.

Well, in a sense, between parties (Britain and the future US), I think you could say the US was the more liberal side in that fight, at least in a classical sense. Isn't the classical definition that liberals want things to change while conservatives want them to stay the same under the set up current at the time?

They are celebrating one of the Obama's birthdays, instead of the 4th, I read on twitter.

Republicans act like they want the government out of your life, unless it's controlling who can get married, which religion can pray in schools, what day of the week you can buy alcohol on, being the world police, supporting entitlements, bailing out banks, restricting the free market (Tesla), taking lobbyist money...
