How much did you spend on Christmas decorations this year?

Dear Friends,

I think I'm becoming a Christmas shopaholic. I'm pushing $4000 and I haven't even cleared Dillard's. Tomorrow is going to be a blood bath there. I'm headed out now to reconnoiter the Christmas section. Forget sunglasses, designer bags and clothes -- the Christmas clearance is the real reason to hit Dillard's NYD sale. Last check there were about 50 Radkos still available. They even had some Ulbricht nutcrackers! To get some Ulbrichts would be too much for me.

I hit four Walmarts again today. It was a beautiful thing. Garden Centers were closed at the time of day I showed up, so I had to enter the regular entrance. As I hurried to the clandestine sale, as the first Walmart didn't have signs up yet, I flew. Gravity lost its grip of me and I floated as I skipped and hopped with my jumbo cart. It soon filled with beautiful ornaments and decorations. I spent about $500 at Walmart today at the 75% sale. The homes are going to be beautiful! A tree in every room, even bathrooms. I filled Mother's Mercedes and my friend's Tracker or Prism -- I can't remember the type he has.

Garlands will be my next focus and I have lots of tools with which to work. I hope next year we can have an OT get-together with caroling, cooking baking, ornament crafting, and hot chocolate! My heart flutters at the thought of sharing Christmas with you!

In a bit of bad news, I have discovered that I will not be getting copies of TulaneLSU's Advent Pilgrimage until next Sunday due to shipping problems. I don't know if we should wait until next year to do the scavenger hunt, as it may be after Epiphany that I can get all the details straight. What do you think? I'm leaning toward a scavenger hunt to start next year, perhaps the weekend after Thanksgiving. A reason to hurry is we have such momentum this year with such fanfare and excitement behind our month of adventuring together. But next year, I could be dead or I may cease to post. What do you think? I will get a copy to buttocksnclarse, but it may only be a black and white copy as the color printed copies are still in printing mode.

Here are some fun pictures today. Someone wanted a picture of the ornaments at Walmart, so I took some there.

My best of friends, may your New Year's be great and may it be filled with happiness, love, joy, peace, health, Christopher Radko ornaments, and kindness. Be kind to one another and welcome the stranger. Be quick to forgive. Give freely and without expectation of return. May love fill the halls of your home and the ventricles of your heart.

Love,
TulaneLSU

Not a fricking dime. Have a fake tree and put up a few other things, a reaf on the door, that's it. I try to spend as less money as possible on some shite that will be used for about a month every year.

And to you and yours.

Walmart always brings out the big green and red plastic storage bins for sale the day after Christmas. They put them right next to all the clearance items and I suspect they do this to profit. They know that shoppers will assume the red and green bins are on clearance. But they aren't. Just a warning to all you unsuspecting shoppers out there: the green and red bins are NOT on sale. Don't argue with the cashier when she rings you up at regular price. It's not her fault. It's Walmart.

Very very little. Like less than 40 bucks refreshing depleted lights and a couple Knick-knacks. My wife and I have SO MANY heirlooms and old beautiful decorations from the past century, handed down through generations of family, that it just isn’t necessary to spend a lot of money on cheap new stuff.

ETA: Happy New Year to you, TulaneLSU....

Spent around $200 on a few things that home depot had for 50% off that I wont get to use until next year. Gotta figure out how to get this big arse box in the attic tomorrow though.
