I know what my strength is, but my Rx is expired. Don't want to see an opto.

If you can input all the needed info, that is all you need.

They aren't checking for an rx; if that is what you are asking

I bought 5 pair from zenni for less than 150$. This included one pair of sunglasses and another pair with transition lenses.

Rx's expire after 1 year. You'd have to get a valid Rx I think.

I've never used zenni, have used eyebuydirect.com and they just have you enter the axis and other info

Before insurance, my last pair were around $800. Paid $400 out of pocket. Seems extremely expensive for eyewear. Newest progressive lenses (cant remember the name), best coating

$60 for progressives with AR coating from Zenni. Frames are good-looking semi-rimless and included magnetic shades. They are as good as any I've ever bought locally for several hundred dollars. I also have a somewhat difficult Rx due to a buttload of astimgatism. Been using Zenni and Eyebuydirect for 10 years, and they've never fricked up an Rx across 20 or so pair including progs and single vision computer and TV glasses, with the SV glasses typically $20/pair. Much better record than local shops and so much cheaper.

I had Lasik done in 2000. I just need to get a new pair of glasses for the first time since then. I paid $200 for 2 pair. No coating or anything. Just something to wear when I drive.

Just ordered a pair of Maui Jims prescription sunglasses. Progressive lenses. $850.FML. I used to complain about $200 dollar sunglasses.

I think mine were like 250 after insurance. Basic scratch resistant lenses. Tory Burch frames.

Walmart $10. And it works fine. A family friend was a big time Optometrist. Had 3 offices, wrote books and stuff. He used to always say, don't go drop hundreds of dollars on all those fancy lens, etc... just go down to local drug store or Walmart and get the cheap ones. They are all the same type of glass and you save $$.

Lenscrafters or any other store associated with Luxottica is a complete rip off since they're pretty close to monopoly and have also bought up most of the major frame designers including Ray-Ban,Brooks Brothers, etc.
