I’m old school . . . I always have $500 - $750 in my wallet and another $1,000 hidden behind my checkbook (yes, I still have a checkbook too). I will use a debit or credit card on occasion, but I think the risk of loss is greater electronically than the risk of me losing my wallet.
It amuses me that so many people just trust bank or credit card purchases to be fool-proof and less risky. Also, to all the people that don’t keep receipts from transactions and just trust the bank to reconcile your account, that is crazy in my mind.

I've never had any issue with disputed charges or my bank screwing up my balance ever. You sound very misinformed.

Why? That is stupid.
I may have $15 or $20 in mine. 99.9% of the time I have $0 in cash.

Oh jeez. You're more likely to give the cashier a 20 and she give you back change for a 10 than any of this.

He is. 22 yrs having a credit card and I got my first fraud charge last week. I got an email and call in minutes and resolved in two phone calls. The second call was to a hotel I had a reservation for b/c I needed to get them the new cc information. It cost me maybe 15 minutes to resolve. Although I started a stupid thread about it wanting to find the cocksucker.
Cash is dumb.

Every check you've ever written has your account and routing number on it. If you're worried about safety, you're doing it wrong.

Exactly.
I can quantify this with proof. Pizza Delivery comes in use again.
IN the 90s, almost ALL deliveries were cash or check.
The average driver "lost" money somehow once a month. It was understood you were gonna have a mishap, miscalc, misdrop(we had cash drop boxes in the store aka clusterfrick), a real drop, etc
Fast forward to 2011-2015 where 90% of deliveries were credit card by the end of that stint...
Drivers don't lose money any more. end of story.

If you only knew how far off that statement is.

I've never needed it for anything that couldn't wait until I got home first.

There's mountains and mountains of evidence of cashless and online banking being infinitely more secure than any other kind of transaction. At this point its not an opinion that it's better, it's a fact.

Okay. Show me some proof then.
