What's crazy is how much more difficult and competitive UVA was compared to Tulane. I love both schools but that there was a noticeable difference.
But yes, Tulane students overall are very bright. They have the capabilities of Ivy League students but they smoked one too many joints or dranks few too many beers. They were bright slackers who decided to go to a decent school where they could live out some of the best four years of their lives.

it's particularly funny to me because my wife and I now live in Boston along with about 5 of her Tulane friends. My wife particularly was afraid of the cold winters but now she swears she can never live in the South again

I started in chemical engineering at Tulane and ended up finishing at LSU in petroleum.
Like going from MLB to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous not the minor league)

Why didn't you finish at Tulane.

Not yet, but I do think they are seriously working on Dook.

What? Both Tulane and Loyola have a scholarship program for LA residents with good grades and test scores. My younger sister got a full ride to both, but chose to go out of state since they didn't have the program she wanted

assuming all the legislative scholarships are being used 105

I go there currently and am from texas, but the house i live in has a guy from Penn, Cali, and Boston. Have 2 friends who went to school in Nola, but the majority of those kids (nola folk) are in a program called Posse, which is a scholarship program to keep kids in the city. The state with the most kids who attend is California, followed by New York/Jersey and then Louisiana.

I always heard 25% -- definitely a minority
More like less than 13% of undergrads are from Louisiana.

Louisiana was a clear plurality when I was there in law school. In fact LSU undergrad was a clear plurality also.

I don't think minority concept is very helpful here, as it would take 50.0000...1% to make a majority, and I don't think Tulane has had that in ages.
