2500 sq ft home because the wife "needed" a 4th bedroom with only 1 child.
I could easily live in my 1000 sq ft camp but as they say, happy wife happy life.

A little over 3400, and I completely hate it. Kids are grown, and I'm a slave to my house note.

5400 living, 7200 under beam. 7 bedrooms, 6 baths.
Property tax, electricity, insurance, and freaking upkeep!!!! 4 central a/c units seem to always need an expensive repair.
Oldest son gone, next one will be in college in a year and a half, then 2 left to go. Looking to downsize this summer hopefully.

The OT is so confusing. Everyone makes six figures and drive audis or F150s but they are giving OP shite for living in a 3000sqft house. Yeah it's a little big for 2, but has room to grow the family.

Ours is 2400 3/2, good size for 3 people but would probably want something bigger for 4. Baby gets its own room, so if we have another all of my stuff in extra BR has no place to go. I need my things.

5417 heated. Too big.

Like a full time job keeping up with the cleaning and chasing clothes for laundry, etc. Last home was 4387 and was perfect. Years ago had one about 2700 and was too small.

Three kids.

1700 with four kids, and it's fine. We spend most of our time outside.

Best advice I can give is to live simply. When we bought the house, I made half of my current salary and we had two kids. It has kept us honest, and I love knowing I could say frick it all and still afford my home by mowing lawns and working at WMT.

3800 living space 4400 total with porches and balcony. Not including the garage/storage room. It’s way to much house for only two of us.

Fwiw, converted 3 plex to single.
