It was chaos just like the last two NBA all star games that came to town. Hundreds were killed. LOL

24 gun arrests

quote:

Undercover officers stopped Joseph Graham, 18, when they said he was seen smoking marijuana in the 700 block of Canal Street, Gernon said. When officers searched him, Gernon said they found he was hiding an assault rifle in his pants.

quote:

Gernon said between 300 and 400 NOPD officers were on duty in the downtown area over the holiday weekend, as were SWAT officers and Louisiana State Troopers.

"Our officers are out there, they are actively involved, they are making gun arrests, they are really pressing forward to keep people safe down here," Gernon said. "And we think that because of the hard work of the officers and the troopers is why we had such a safe Bayou Classic weekend."

A lot of people have been reposting the article from last year about the shooting of 9 people on Bourbon. None this year that I've heard.

i was there briefly saturday night

vibe and energy were great, fwiw.

it seemed slightly more classy, not quite at essence fest levels but better than the standard bayou classic crowd

Since the statues were removed there have been fewer murders in all but one month.

Just being big, black, and scary looking doesn't make it an "assault rifle".

Anyone hiding any kind of rifle in their pants prolly isn’t up to a whole lot of good.
