How many people on Earth have never been more than 1-2 stories off the ground?

If you think about, it really wasn’t that long ago in the context of human history that a very large percentage of humanity had never been more that a story or 2 above the ground. This would be the more agrarian pre-skyscraper era and obviously before flight.
I assume today many in the 3rd world have never physically been that far above the ground, but maybe some in the US too?

there were millions and millions and millions of people in the Aztec, inca, maya, Egyptian, Cambodian, and other assorted pre Columbian empires who built structures so tall they can be seen from space

Most inhabited places have trees. Kids climb them. Adults do too sometimes. I think you had better go up a few stories before you do the how high am I thing.
