Hmmmm.... I may have found Wiki. His last post was on Feb. 14 of this year..

LINK

This story is from Feb 28th of this year.Just a couple weeks after Wiki went dark.

World’s largest bitcoin exchange files for bankruptcy

Now this picture went with this story....

Could it be Wiki is one of these dudes and he's still out there on the sidewalk trying to get answers?

I mean, look at his prediction post:
quote:

*MtGox price is used because it was the only exchange with substantial volume throughout the entire year, and thus it's difficult to compare the beginning of the year price to the end of the year price using other exchanges.

The whole market was so damn shady that he couldn't find a reliable exchange that was in operation for twelve consecutive months, but it was going to quadruple in value and topple governments. GTFO.

Here's my theory w/r/t wiki and bitcoin. He never cared about the money, personally. He used it as a propaganda piece. He wanted to entice people in with promises of riches and hope that, once they got into the bitcoin environment, they would buy into his neckbeard political philosophies that went along with it

Awesome quote from 10 months back by Wiki:

quote:

Do you think all of the histrionic people in this thread are going to remember their dire prognostications 6 months from now, 1 year from now, etc, when bitcoin is still going strong and think to themselves, "You know, I was a fricking moron. Maybe I should do some actual research and learn what is actually happen before I open my stupid mouth"?

Thank you for finding this. It's just... Well it's just beautiful. I've read it three times already and each time it was better than the last.

Overstock accepts bitcoin. I found this. How fricking pissed are these employees going to be?

quote:

Overstock's commitment to bitcoin goes further than just sales, however. The company recently announced plans to pay out employee bonuses in bitcoin and said it is considering making regular payroll payments available in the digital currency too.

Datpiff reports they caught the guy who was in charge of this deep web site where drugs were bought and sold everyday via bitcoins, and the FBI just caught him today. I'm sure some people lost bitcoins with this site, and this is just an example. I would never trust that shite.

People that bought Bitcoins to hold as a long term investment deserved whatever happened to them.

Day trading them and mining them were the only smart plays.

Then like LSUToo said getting out while the getting was good.

I made a little money doing just that as did several posters on the Gaming Board that already had powerful PCs to put to use mining.

You didn't think it would topple governments and revolutionize the world either.

Probably when they were $1,000. That is why he is always so pissy on this board
Is this the one thread on TD he hasn't read? No response?

No and neither did most people from here that were actively making money in it or other crypto currencies.

I do see how it could be trouble for smaller Governments in the future though.

My theory, given his secrecy about his monetary involvement in Bitcoin and his overreaction and disappearance over someone posting his initials, was that he's a deep web drug dealer.

Wiki's last post:
quote:

So then are you ok with people posting information here that you have about yourself online?
If you scroll down a couple of posts after wiki wrote the above reply to me you will see that I replied to him and then 4 hours
later I edited my post.

Since he was attempting to threaten me by revealing my identity from his off board stalking of me, in my pre-edit reply
to him I wrote my full name, my phone number, my email address and my home address along with a message,
"What else would you like to blackmail me with, bitcoin boy?"

I had no fricks to give.....
