2 - Husband and wife who live in rural Livingston Parish. Both were sick for 7 to 10 days and are close to being back to baseline.

One, but that that one is my oldest and closest friend.

He had a fever and other flu-like symptoms and went to the drive-through testing at UNO a week ago this past Friday. The fever and symptoms subsided a few days later.

Ten days after the test the results came in and he was indeed positive for COVID-19, although he no longer has any symptoms.

Considering all my grandfather’s underlying health problems, he’s doing fine. He’s got emphysema, asthma, copd, went into afib a couple weeks ago. He’s been on a cpap machine 24/7 for like 5+!years.

I’m pretty certain that they’re getting ready to move him out of the hospital and into a place called like Promise or something along the lines from what my dad said to me today. It’s a place for the elderly to get kind of rehabilitated and ready to go back home and live alone.

Mom, however, is still trying to shake it. Still has a persistent very low grade fever and a dry cough. She’ll get better though, just kind of unsettling considering she can’t take anything to get better and has to stay quarantined while we bury her mother tomorrow.

My grandfather won’t even be able to attend the funeral either. Damn near 60 years of marriage and he can’t even be there for her funeral.

Thank ya sir.

Really not too worried about me getting it, I’m more worried about my wife getting it at this point. Got married in November and just found out two weeks ago that we’re expecting; she’s a PA at a walk in clinic at Ochsner in Shreveport. She’s had multiple people test positive that she’s seen the passed couple weeks. That makes me very uneasy.

That’s the mistake right there.
I realize that, but surely you understand where the average idiot American gets their news from. It has created many people to panic unnecessarily. They have everyone in the country thinking they will die from covid-19.

Why didn’t you make her self quarantine?

Pretty selfish of her

Probably the same reason I didn’t self quarantine. I found out about the first positive guy I came in contact with, 36 hours after the fact, it was too late by then. If I got it, my family got it as well. I did contact the three families my daughter was at their houses during that time, had to tell them that my daughter may have been infected (luckily neither of us, or my wife or other daughter got it). We did quarantine for about seven days, very little contact with friends.

We all live in the same house. Makes it kinda hard to isolate. You can also infect others before you show any signs. It is what it is I suppose. My daughter and I have only had a slight nagging headache. The wife has struggled more with shortness of breath, fatigue and overall flu-like symptoms.
