Like I mentioned earlier, I was not feeling 100% myself the weekend of New years.. I just felt drained and, had a slight sore throat, etc for about four days, but I don't think it was the flu. I had the flu shot, I know that doesn't mean I can't get the flu or anything, but it seems like a lot of people around me has been or is currently sick, especially those with kids (in school).
There was a map awhile back I saw, it showed the areas in the US where the flu is has spread the most and Louisiana was up there. With that said, I think there are those who are getting sick and self diagnosing as flu, but there is other non flu stuff going around as well.

This year I didn't fly and so I didn't get sick.
Airport is what got me. Felt awful for 3 days, on vacation. . . Haven't been tested for flu, but I've had 101.4 fever, chills, severe cough, sore throat, and runny nose. I dismissed the symptoms at first (I very very rarely get sick), but I'm regretting it bigly now. Wish I had gotten tested / Tamiflu.

it is much better than not getting it and having NO protection from it.

My mom just called and said she took my Pappaw to the dr and he tested positive for Type B. I was over visiting him Sunday night and he said his legs were hurting him bad but thought it was due to having a busy week last week. He’ll be 85 in a couple months so hopefully he gets over it quick. It’s not the end of the world if I get it but I really don’t need my soon to be 2 year old to catch anything!

agreed...I have had the flu once in my life and can honestly say that was the sickest I have ever been. stayed in the bed for nearly a solid week.

My wife and I both came down with symptoms on Saturday morning. We are both finally feeling slightly better this evening, but we are not out of the woods.
The hospital where my wife works is completely full. There is a pretty bad flu epedimic this year in the Pittsburgh area apparently.
I imagine the bitterly cold weather is also forcing more people into closer quarters, which isn't helping matters.
I have been told that OLOL in Baton Rouge is also feeling the pain. We have a two family friends there for unrelated issues this week.

My oldest son is really sick right now. Flu negative but bad strep. Like I've never seen it this bad and I work in healthcare. Looks like somebody set a tiny stick of dybamite off in his throat. Poor kid. It's been a rough day.

I have some sinus stuff going on, but mine isn’t too bad. My immune system has been a champ, I just have pressure in my one of my ears.
Just started tonight for me. Laying my left ear/left side of head, on a hot water bottle.
