3-5 people that had the flu off the top of my head. I am steering very clear of anyone with any signs of sickness. shite is going around bad this year. If you start coughing, I'm getting the frick away from you.

I've had it for the last week. Finally coming out of it. My kids and my wife have it also. Been real fun around here.

I've had a head cold for the last week but it's just about run its course. Never had a flu shot. Haven't had the full-blown flu in probably 40 years.

The news is saying the flu shot this year is only 10-12% effective. I am not sure how true that is.

They base that off how effective the flu shot was in Australia (southern hemisphere).
Basically it is too early to really know exactly how effective the shot was for the US.

They’ve been consistently saying this for 3 months so I would tend to believe it’s true. That’s straight from the CDC

Was in and out of the cardiac ward twice since Thanksgiving, and then the flu shows up. In my second week. Fortunately, it's winding down and I just might be able to start feeling like a human once again.
Noticed the Australian Disease Center indicated that the current flu vaccine was 40% effective at best. Depending upon the healthcare professional you talk to, some go a low as 20%. Too many strains this year.

Flu shot never works. 10% effective this year. havent seen it this bad in the ERs since the H1N1 paranoia about 8 yrs ago. We see about 20pts+ a day with it. Most believe tamiflu is a miracle drug. Go ahead and spend that $100 on that fkn poison. Kids having hallucinations, seizures and kidney failure.

They are saying it usually is a good predictor of the effective of the US...but still too early to tell exact numbers of effectiveness.
Whatever the case, you are still better off getting the flu shot than not getting one. Even if you still get the flu...if you got the shot chances are you will have a less severe version of the flu.

“The number of jurisdictions experiencing high activity went from 21 states to 26 states and New York City and the number of states reporting widespread activity went from 36 to 46,” wrote the public health agency in a recent post. “Influenza-like illness (ILI) went from 4.9% to 5.8%. ?These indicators are similar to what was seen at the peak of the 2014-2015 season, which was the most severe season in recent years.” In some states, like California, emergency rooms have already been overwhelmed with people suffering from the flu.

Well it is directly from their website. CDC is pretty good about updating their website. So that means the new information is still not available.
I’m not saying it won’t end up being 10% after all ....just saying the news reports are misleading
