I can't stand the smell of weed, the way it makes me feel or how a stoner behaves. That said, I'm 100% on board with full scale decriminalization of cannabis.
Less dangerous than booze and cigarettes
Less people in jail
Potential medical uses above whats already discovered
Huge source of tax revenue

I’ll agree with this, young kids with developing brains shouldn’t be using anything that changes their state of mind.

it is without doubt a gateway drug. Anyone who says differently is either naive or an addict.
Alcoholic and addiction speaking here, it’s because weed is one of the easiest things to get your hands on as a teenager. The whole “gateway drug” thing is such a crock of shite. Marijuana is more prevalent so it’s the most common drug most people use first. Using weed first has zero bearing on future drug use.

When I hear tax and regulate I just roll my eyes. Overregulation isn't much better than prohibition
And it's always self proclaimed conservatives that perpetuate the idiotic "legalize and tax the shite out if it" rhetoric.
Legalizing a plant and taxing it to death is as against conservatism as you can get.

If you tax it highly, the black market will continue to dominate

It’s still prevalent in CA

We have far too many rules and regulations as it is.
Legal weed and alcohol are way too overregulated
Look, you have to have a legal age to consume, and you have to have laws to protect other people. It's no different than cigarettes. Why should other people have to be exposed to your life choices if they don't want to be?
I don't care what you do in your home. But when you step out into public, your activities should be regulated to the extent that if they have the potential to affect others adversely, you can be held responsible. Whether that is blood alcohol content, a ban on the use of marijuana and cigarettes in public places, or driving under the influence.
If everyone were responsible and only used in the private of their homes, laws would not be necessary. But people prove time and time again that they are irresponsible.
If the choice is legal weed with no regulation whatsoever, or banning weed, I'd take banning weed in that case. It has to be regulated if you are going to legalize it.

Just wish people would be honest about why they want it legalized and stop all the bs about curing disease, cancer, hair loss, stuttering, bad breath, lice and every other undesirable imaginable.
They want to get high to Escape reality.
Be honest

I don't even smoke it and want it legalized because of freedom. The government shouldn't be putting people in jail over a plant. I don't want it for tax revenue either. My neighbor should be able to grow it in his backyard imo.

Ehh, I have problems with there being laws against it but I don’t respect the action of those who smoke regularly. I don’t blame them but I don’t respect them for it

I am on medical CBD.
There are strains for everyone and their tastes.
I prefer the low THC below 1%.
I have an incurable disease and it helps tremendously with my problems. Almost a lifesaver.
I do not like the high so I go with strains grown with little THC cannabinoid.

Opposed right here. Its trashy as fuk it stinks like fukin shite. No thanks fuk legalizing that crap

Im of the opinion it should be legalized. This is where I believe thw pro choice argument is actually a good fit. What someone puts into their body is their business. The government should not regulate what people put into their bodies.

As far as physical harm goes, if you put a crack pipe and some shrooms in front of me and told me I had to use one, I'd hit the crack pipe. I have no idea where this idea that shrooms are benign came from. They are very powerful, and tend to cause permanent mental changes.
Cocaine pretty well destroys your heart muscle (which is what got it criminalized to begin with). I’ll take my chances with the shrooms.

Legalize and tax, some thing with shrooms and other drugs.

but for those who do, it becomes central to their lives and impairs their abilities to function-- even at levels that people who self medicate with beer and other forms of alcohol would pale in comparison to,

Absolutely. They also shouldn't regulate a transaction if a person wants to make a voluntary trade for a drug with someone else.
