They get all the potential jurors into a room and they ask you a series of questions including if race plays a role in your decision
I raised my hand and got excused immediately.
You’re welcome

Twice
First time was an old guy bought a ladder at Walmart and fell off of it and wanted a class action suit because he said the ladder failed. I didn't get picked.
2nd time I was called, I had the secretary write me an excuse that I was offshore. Mailed it to them and never heard anything. I've never been called since.

Been called 3 times, served once. It was a medical malpractice. A third of the jurors were blooming idiots. It was interesting to see and be a part of, but the deliberations as jurors was frustrating. I’d rather get my arse whipped than do it again.

like 5 times. Gotten out of it 4 times. Time I didn't was for shits and giggles.

2. Actually served on jury duty; if so, was it a boring or interesting case?
lady on trial for murdering her boyfriend. She initially pled not guilty, took one look at the jury and got a 'shite just got real' look on her face, said something to her lawyer, went back, and came back pleading guilty. so yeah, she killed him.

2. Actually served on jury duty; if so, was it a boring or interesting case?
3. If you served on a jury during a serious criminal trial, did you fear retribution?
1. Once.
2. Once; first degree murder.
3. Gave the guy the guy the death penalty. Never feared retribution nor lost a night's sleep over the decision.

I’ve only been called onetime but they plead guilty so no trial to watch. I’d like to do it once just to see how it is, I think it’d be interesting.

Jury doesn't decide penalty.

Called once and served once.
DUI case, which is pretty lame. Chick didn't submit to a breathalyzer and there was no blood test. Cops word against hers. County did an awful job proving their case so I was ready to go to bat for her.
Then, in what I can only assume was an extreme bout of egoism, she took the stand. Within 3 questions we learned that she'd been in and out of AA and was an alcholic.
Me and the jury promptly convicted her dumbass.
Don't ever testify if you're guilty, folks.

Was selected for grand jury from 08/19 until 10/20. Very interesting and mostly murder cases. A few child rape cases. Those are the worst human beings on the planet

I was Juror #1 and, was chosen for the jury, elected foreman. We convicted. 20 year old now in jail for life…three strikes law.
Probably shouldn’t be committing armed robbery in full view of the security camera if you don’t want to go to jail.

The videos of him. The day of his murder he walked into that house. When the neighbor called the cops he was at a full sprint from inside the house. That’s not a jogger. And he’s been caught stealing before. The problem is the narrative is he was just jogging down the road and for no reason at all was shot. Nothing else happened.
I got called once, during the selection process I was released because I had once slept with the ADA that was the prosecutor in the case. Never been called since.

Called a few times, never served, they always ask my occupation, that's when I get dismissed.

I have to go Monday for the first time in my life. Who knows what I'll be dealing with in EBRP.

Bring something to read or get work in on your computer or whatever, but get ready to wait around.

Called once in the late 80s. Had started working for a prison and had to go through the academy, they got me out of it.

Got a notice to report for Federal duty earlier this year.
I was all set to go do it; got a call the Friday before I was supposed to go. No trials that next week, thank you but I wouldn’t be needed.
