Which is something I don’t quite understand the reasoning behind since the 911 terrorists all presented legit IDs/passports, so the failings had nothing to do with identification, but the TSA being asleep on the job, and so now as a result we have Real ID’s and the Patriot Act. All of this tends to raise my American antenna and makes me wonder if any of this is about much more than simply an excuse to grow the influence of the Federal Government.
It just really doesn’t make sense to keep America safer IMO

Don't have one. But I have a passport and TWIC card.

All it entails is just some additional info that proved who you say you are for an ID. What’s the purpose of an ID again? Oh yeah. To prove why you say you are.

Real id is another republican scam to disenfranchise minority voters
Imagine being a poc and finally figuring out how to get an id to vote and the republicans tell you that it’s not a “real” id

I just recently got mine. I have a passport but didn’t want to tote that around every time I fly domestically.

Exactly how I got mine except I tried to renew while he was there doing his driving test. Unfortunately I didn't have the proper documents so I had to go back to the DMV.

Not sure I'd go quiitttee that far, but the shite is out of control.
ATL on a Monday morning is an absolute nightmare, even with TSA PreCheck....I mean like lines snaked back to the doors which are a few hundred yards from security.
There HAS to be a better balance of security with common sense convenience. Especially when you read the articles of how badly TSA fails tests by letting contraband through security. It'd be a different story if they were actually doing anything useful.

Outside of having to bring documents and the TX DMV being nothing like La, it wasnt that big of a deal.
