Im in Mounjaro, lost 70 lbs pretty quick when I started, but has been slower lately. Been on it about a year and a half for diabetes but weight loss was a great side effect.
My A1C is down and stays at 5.4 from 8.6.
Dick works great, thanks for asking.
frick who ever dont like it, it has helped my diabetes and also helped me to make better food choices and portion size choices. It cut out the constant thought of food(food noise) many days I have to remind myself to eat regular meals because its not the main thing on my mind.

Why should he be? He's changing for the better... everyone has to start somewhere, excepting Mingo- Mingo is and always has been a perfect specimen.

How much did you weigh to begin with that you lost 70 pounds?
Posted on 8/27/25 at 7:58 pm to Slippy
I’m on Wagovy. Started with a small dose for a couple months then last week we upped it to the average dose once I was used to it. Lost 11 lbs so far. Moderate exercise.
I like how it quells hunger, but as the week goes on it eventually wears off, so I am more hungry at the end of the week than the beginning.
Fitting in clothes I once busted out of.

I concluded that the risk to my long term health by not doing anything is far greater than the long term health risk of using these medications.
Good for you. I started using it when I was on the cusp of being a pre-diabetic. So happy with it.

Started in June 2024 at 385 pounds... im at 245 now... went from waist 54 to 40... 3XL to XL shirts... last doctor appointment blood work was all in normal range. I do the compounded version of Zepbound/Monjaro. I can walk all day (unless my bad knee stops me).

Started on wegovy a couple months ago, VA approved me for Zepbound, so will transition over soon.
I started out at 258 ( I’m 6’1). Developed a ridiculous looking gut, blood pressure was high and sleep apnea getting worse.
Started GLP-1, however started going to the gym 4-5 days a week, lifting weights, cardio. Cut out pop, alcohol , sweet tea and reduced my carbs. No sweets, other than maybe a bite of dark chocolate on occasion. I’m down to 233, came off blood pressure meds and sleeping a bit better. Clothes fit and I’m down to 36 at my waist.
Still want to get to 185-190. For me, the med is just another tool. I’m really putting work in at the gym and trying to finally eat right. I will say the medication is good for suppressing food binges and sugar cravings.

I have not, I just don’t make excuses for that time. I was not eating right and training like I should. Very simple

I'm just picking at you.. I actually admire you. I can't take your sanctimony while I'm fat and unhealthy... so I make a little lighthearted fun. You are actually in my top 20 posters.

This has been an interesting thread. Thanks to everyone who has been open and honest about their journey. I need to lose some weight for knee replacement surgery, and for general health, so it is on the table.

Yhng is, these medications have been used long term for diabetes with no long term harm. That argument is bullshite. Glp1s are not new
