Don't have flood insurance on the house or the condo... neither of them is in a zone or is ever going to flood.

Or, if they do, it'll be too late to start building the ark.

Paid it off 4 years ago.
I was paying 1200 per year which did not include contents.


But what really pissed me off was they could never remove my ex wife name. They would always say they would, but when I got the policy there she was again.

Even worse it was in her madien name, before we were married, she has remarried again. So her name has changed 3 times since them. What kinda cluster frick do you think I would have gone thru trying to make a claim on that policy. They finally told me to get her name off the policy I would have to open a new policy and the rated would be much higher... Screw FEMA

Yes have flood insurance and not in a flood plain.

We have it even though its not required. At 490 a yr its an easy decision.

I don't, but lost most everything in Katrina...got $150k grant...required to have it now.

I carry it. Preferred Risk coverage of 100,000 on the house and 40,000, (I think), on the contents. Premium is like $325 per year. Well worth it.
