How Many Of You Baws Were Boy Scouts?

I was. Spent many a summer sleeping in tents, swimming in lake, hiking the woods, using the latrine at TL James in Union parish.
Also connected to Edgewood, which I think was in Calcasieu parish.

I was a Life Scout.
Honestly, I hated it. But I wish I had gotten my Eagle Scout because that’s still a big deal to some people.

I was a cub scout. Our den mother was busted for drug possession. True story. We got a replacement and we met in the loft of her house until a kid fell down the steep flight of stairs. That was the end of cub scouts.

Dude that’s like going to school through the 12th grade and not graduating.
What happened? Didn’t want to finish the big service projects? I built picnic tables.

I was, but I did it for the adventures and camping. I got to Star, but ranks were not my focus. I wish I would have went after my Eagle though. Impressed with those who did. My son is planning his Eagle project now.

Don’t remember the exact reason other than the troop kinda disintegrated and I wasn’t very interested.
Funny enough, I had one merit badge left, camping! I we t camping a dozen times but I never actually got that merit badge.
The service project I think I began working on it but I don’t remember.

Yea this happens a good bit I think. A fun active troop makes all the difference.

You just reminded me of our local shithole camp. A swamp surrounded by marsh. We called it Camp Torture Me. Quicksand, snakes, bugs, no latrines even.
I just looked it up and they’ve completely renovated the place. Like they have buildings now. Ducking pussies.
We started going to a much nicer camp which was much more enjoyable. Camp Rainey Mountain but still remember taking showers with roaches and scorpions and spiders.
