Other than the typical back and fourth pattern?

I see lawns with all sorts of patterns in my neighborhood. Why take the extra time and gas to do something so worthless?

It never ceases to amaze me at how concerned some of you about other people's lawns.

Between Travel Ball and Grass Cutting I can't keep up with the OT anymore. I no longer know what's acceptable.

Not me but my uncles used to mow things into my grandfather’s yard to amuse themselves.

Main reason it worked was that they were in the flight path of an airport and would mow to have things visible during a descent.

I had a cherry tree smack dab in the middle of the lawn at my old house. I started at the tree and did a circular pattern in the front yard.

no matter how hot it is, its still better to be cutting grass than doing some random, stupid project the wife wants to work on.

I do it early in the season, but stop when it really gets growing. St aug doesn’t hold patterns or stripes very well, and even then you got to go with a higher cut height. Once if really gets growing I keep it shorter to keep it down to cutting once a week.

If you want to display stuff in grass, one of the easier ways is to drop rye grass seeds in a pattern.

Kids at my school used it to spell out stuff against our main rival school for spirit week. Administration had to keep the groundskeepers handy to mow it over whenever it happened.
