working? yes, in fact my band is playing the main stage of the House of Blues in New Orleans tomorrow. I went out to bars around New Orleans trying to sell a few presale tickets unsuccessfully.

Well compensated? no, but that's my own fault for not being exceptionally talented at performing nor marketing

I've been trying to land a real full time gig using all of my fancy booklearnin' degrees, but that hasn't amounted to much lately. Job market around South Louisiana in general is pretty terrible compared to the rest of the country.

20-21. Never have had a problem eating or drinking alone. Comes from not relying on others to enjoy myself.

I’ve hooked up with more chicks going out alone than in a group. Nobody cares who your with. Just be cool and not awkward and you’ll be fine.

Married.

Had it flung at me a couple times. I’m an old dog on a porch. I WILL bark but if you call my bluff I am running into the house. Lol

Me. And I know the bartenders at the places i go to drink alone. It is always before going out somewhere else as I never go to one bar to drink alone, I'll hit several bars/clubs, sometimes meeting up with friends, sometimes not.

As for when I started doing that, I would say 23, right after college when i moved to Atl. Then i made friends that i went out partying with for a year or two, then started making excuses to go out by myself instead of with them. I figured out i did a lot better hooking up with women and taking them home on my own than with my buddies. Course i still knew random people at the places i would go but just didnt have my buddies with me all night.

I've repeated that pattern for years, hanging out with buddies at times, then going solo at times. Still seems I pick up more women solo.

And as for giving a frick, none whatsoever since my early 20s either way.

I do it but not by choice...it’s because I don’t have any friends

I do it at my neighborhood watering hole once or twice a week to get a philly steak and a beer when my wife is with friends or out and about or I worked late and missed dinner.

It’s great for the soul.

Where's the chick who won't go to a bar without her husband? She won't like this post.

Personally, I prefer my own company to that of people. Unless those people are whores.

I do this shite all the time. I'd do it even if I had friends

I used to be the same way - mortified at the thought of going to eat, going to the movies, etc. by myself. At some point I got over that and now I kind of prefer it.

This. Bars in/near hotels and airports are total meat markets.

Sometimes when I’m alone at my dive bar, I’ll see friends walk in and I hate it

Damn, Fred. There is more to explore. The three you mention are the places you go to feel better about yourself. Then strip off my smoke ridden clothes at the back door.
