Used to eat at the Morrison's in Williamsburg, VA every year on our way to the Outer Banks in the mid-80s. Place was seriously legit.
The cafeteria at Women's Hospital ain't bad either, and I've heard good things about the state police cafeteria

When I was young, 1950's, we had to race other church congregations to the original Piccadilly on Third Street in Baton Rouge after services on Sundays. Long winded Baptist preacher always made us stand in a long line to get our Sunday lunch.

State Police Cafeteria is also very good today.
+1
A PSA to my Lafayette peeps, I noticed they have Evangeline Maid bread behind the counter. I go there for breakfast and ask for 2 slices untoasted, with eggs, bacon and a slice of cheese you get a killer sandwich for like $2.80.

I stop by Piccadilly every so often. Used to eat a lot at some local ones when I was in South Carolina, there was one that had the best fried chicken. Wish there were more cafeterias now.

Was it A&G or Morrison's that was at Clear View Mall?

Most of them are of poor quality. There's some out there that do amazing jobs, and people flock to them. Also, the plate lunch steam-table counter is a mini cafeteria.

IKEA has an awesome cafeteria. The Swedish meatballs, mash potatoes with gravy and slice of chocolate cake

The best Piccadilly in BTR in the 80s was (gasp)
Bon Marche...Cortana had just as good food, but the dining room wasn't as nice.

Piccadilly was the best. I haven't been in a long time but it was very good.

When wife and I lived in Baton Rouge, we frequent the Piccadilly behind Catholic High (lived in the condos)...I alsways enjoyed the catfish dinner. Seems like the older Baton Rouge crowd frequent there.
