Piccadilly was the GOAT and went south but try one now.

I'm bummed that Piccadilly on Range @ I-12 is not going to reopen.

There's a couple of Piccadillys here in atlanta. I may stop in for a dinner and check up on some nostalgia.

I remember the étouffée at Piccadilly too.

And Luby's had these big cloverleaf rolls that were so soft and would just pull apart with ease.

In general no, but we do have a popular and trendy one with 4 bars. I've been a couple of times.

Loved it back in the day. Went in recently and viewed it through my current perspective: it was appalling. The average diner was obese and the crap being served was as opposite of what a person should be eating as was imaginable.

They were probably mostly white too, which I'm sure triggered you in some manner.

Still eat at Luby's occasionally. There are still new ones opening around Houston.

And then all the med center hospital cafeterias. MD Anderson and Methodist both have nice cafeterias.

I love some Piccadilly. Roast beef au jus, smashed taters, green beans, Neptune sallid, iced tea, and a slice of pee-can pie with coffee. Mmmm.

So close!

+Italian salad
+chocolate pie (whipped, not mirangue)
...sometimes broccoli over green beans

And don't forget the hot roll w butter.

Same meal Ive ordered since 1979.

Serve you?

The Breakfast Buffet at the Essen Lane Location on weekends is the fricking BEST. It's $8 with drink(unlimited coffee, juice, tea, soda) and cooked to order eggs, waffles, pancakes.
Then several buffet choices of grits, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, meats, sweets, fresh fruit.

Now I'm hungry. We going after the gf runs the 10k tomorrow.

eta: I THINK. Not positive that the OLOL actually serves the Picadilly breakfast during the week and it's equally as good and cheap. Someone can verify?

I ate at a Luby's a few months ago. In Longview, I think. Was not good and will not be going back to that one.

I used to pass thru Alec 2 or 3 times per month. Almost always stopped at the Pic there for lunch.

Picadilly used to be so good and now its just depressing. Made the mistake of going to the one in Covington a few month's ago and the mac & cheese tasted like dish water, they didn't have chicken fried steak or any good deserts. Such a shame
