30 smart strong guys could do it I think. Animals tire out pretty easy. They would need to wear him down. Where is this taking place. Anywhere need trees or cover and the people are fricked.

The problem is getting enough people close enough to the animal to do something. Even ignoring the fact that the gorilla would be caving in skulls and ripping off limbs...getting that many people into such a small space would be too crowded for them to do any thing effectively.
