Somebody is training for triathalon more than appreciating that when sun sets in one part of world it simultaneously rises in another part of the world. Yes, I am awake here and not alone in dat endeavor.

Yep. International time zones and natural sleep patterns are slippery SOBs.

Going on 13 hours today. Weekends are pretty much all day unless we have something special going on.

Week days it depends on which day. Probably 3 hours a day on average before and after school.

In other words, borderline too much.

baw. my kids are beautiful, smart, and well behaved. if my wife can keep my arse in line, you know she has these kids straight.

we’ve given up on trying to force family to be good relatives like you and i had growing up. at this point we have neighbors and friends who are more influential in our kid’s lives. i’m not exaggerating when i say if you spent 2-3 hours total playing or interacting with my kids each month they would consider you family in comparison to their lazy boomer grandparents who are only interested in their own interests. We have a neighbor now, Mr Steve, who spends 4-5x time with my kids each year than my or my wife’s parents do. It’s hard to explain to them. Mr Steve is just fricking awesome.

it’s sad, but me and my wife made a pact a long time ago to only speak positively about our kid’s grandparents and uncles/aunts. To always bring them up in daily conversation, in hopes that the few hours a year they get with their relatives they actually feel like family.

they only see my wife’s parents when we travel to see them. and they only see my parents twice a year. and neither set have or feel any guilt about that. and we only life 3.5-4 hours away. Its choice they’ve made…

In your mind vs reality? Recommend reality!

Europe 6-7 hour time zone change is usually harder (awake UK time during local twilight Hrs) than Asia on sleep at midnight to 4am than 12-13 hour change. Not Asia this time…

Weather delays did not help this time.
