How many drinks justify impotence (whiskey dick)?

Do you think there is a reasonable metric by age? For example, 20 drinks at 20 years and 12 at 40?
A friend/coworker apparently suffered from this last night in the neighborhood of 10-11 drinks. Mid 30s, decent shape, naked wife, and was flaccid. He's pretty upset about it and frankly I'm concerned as well at the potential.
It's only happened to me years ago when I was near blackout, but this bloke's situation has me rethinking everything and concerned about aging.
