If they are important to you put them up. If it looks too cluttered then take some down. Do what makes you happy.

Honestly, faced with the same issue I decided on zero. However the location may make a difference, eg, if it's right off the front walkway vs if it's further off/outside the main area.

There are never too many. People saying otherwise are jealous.
In my office at work I have my high school and CC diploma on one wall. I also talked my boss into building some shelves along another wall for my little league trophies.
