The Force awakens.

It was a serious question. I think after Colorado and the recent terrorist threats, more than a few law abiding citizens will be carrying if they have permits.

Not trying to egg it on. Just a prediction.

The good news is Star Wars fans will want to carry blasters in the theater, so all gun-like tools will be banned from the theater during the showings. So everyone can expect a nice little pat-down before their premiere. If you're concealed carrying, then you will be asked to leave.

And lets think this through. Lets say a shooter is in the theater right in the back middle of the theater, and 20 people just happen to be packing heat. One guy stands up and starts shooting, and the other 20 guys get up with their guns. What happens then? Chances are some of these would-be heroes will be shot themselves, and there will be lines of fire coming from all over the place. Many innocents will run into these multiple lines of fire, and now they won't know what to do with people having guns surrounding them from all sides. Top it off that it is dark, loud, and the elevation and lighting would give the shooter an advantage over other people in the theater who may be packing. Next to a music theater, a movie theater is the single worst place to be packing in hopes of saving others.

I didn't know everyone was abbreviating that movie.

Most people don't let other people know they are concealing a weapon. I have a permit but you'd never know unless you try some dumb shite and start shooting up the place. At that point I'd shite my pants, duck behind some shite and start dumping rounds outta my S&W Bodyguard. I will fricking kill you.

Clearly the answer is to just be a good victim and not do jack shite about it...

But hell, who am I to question you? You worked in the TV/Film industry in China and have a 30 hour minor in Mandarin. Clearly an expert.

I think I am the one actually thinking through the environment and multiple lines fire. Please tell me how the multiple additional lines of fire isn't an incredibly big issue here, especially when people would almost certainly not know who the initial perpetrator was if many people are armed in the theater. You gun nuts refuse to answer this.

You know you can't question a liberal about evil assault guns.

They're the experts on firearms.

There are going to be police at every theater in the country.

As for good samaratins in incidents. All I'll say is the chance of them doing anything productive is very very low versus them majority fricking up. I can say this with complete confidence.

Yeah, because everyone who thinks it's a bad idea for a room full of college students to be packing heat is clearly a liberal. Yep, a world of extremes.

Truth of the matter is I don't give a frick about concealed carrying, but I do think highly crowded, dark, and loud areas are a very bad place for them, particularly when people will be drunk and high.

I'll answer. First you neutralize all objects between you and the target i.e. The shooter. Then you neutralize the shooter.
