How long would it take you to plan a wedding?

If we're talking just planning (booking venues/vendors), I think I could plan a wedding in a day. Maybe take a few days if you want to add in cake or dinner tastings.
It's absurd to hear people say they need a year just to plan a wedding.

Good venues book up as much as a year in advance.

Three and a half hours.

Not talking about waiting until the wedding.
I mean the actual planning. Researching venues, calling them, and booking them. Researching bands, calling them, and booking them.
Maybe add a day or two if people don't respond or pick up the phone. Though I'd argue that's a reason to move on to the next in line.

Some of the vendors will take longer than a day to return your calls. Not to mention if you want to tour the venues before you drop a deposit
It's taken my fiancé and me about two months to plan/schedule everything for ours, and that's going pretty quick

Pretty soon they'll need a year to plan the homecoming or prom proposal.

It would take me however long it takes to drive to the courthouse.

You have to do it at least that far out if you plan on using popular venues and vendors. The actually "planning" doesn't take a year.
This place never ceases to amaze me

Just my opinion, but you aren't researching all of that in a day unless you're just going with the first people you look at for each service.

Just go to the justice of the peace. Use the money for a honeymoon to frick around the world instead of paying for a party for people you don't like.

2 minutes. "Tell me where to be, what time, and how much it costs."

Choose a travel website, go there and book 2 round trip tickets to Vegas, suite at casino for a week, maybe a car.
20 minutes, and a chunk of that would be picking the web site.
