I walked out of a pediatric orthos office twice( Mr colorful socks in Baton Rouge). 2 hours the first time. I made sure the second l appt was the very first slot in the morning. After an 1.5 hours of waiting, hearing him in go in and out of other rooms and politely asking the nurse if they had forgot about us, I packed up, left and told the receptionist to not even think about charging me for a missed visit. I don’t know if it was the doctor, his staff or whatever but it was beyond frustrating. I’ve referred many other people away from his office who “heard good things about him” to spare them the frustration.

That's what kills me. They want to charge me if I'm 15 minutes late. Bitch, you are 15 minutes late every time. I should be invoicing YOU.

My PCP is so good looking, I’d wait as long as it takes.

I left after being in the room.
It was for a 6 month checkup. I had picked up my kid from daycare and went to the doctor, didn't wait long in the waiting room, maybe 10-15 minutes. Get in the back and they ask to take his clothes off to his diapers like normal. I remember that it was getting close to feeding time and i didn't have any milk b/c i didn't expect to be there too long and i'd feed him when i got home, which was just around the corner.
20 minutes later no one comes in and i finally open the door to see what the hell is going on. They tell me don't worry it won't be much longer. 20 more minutes go by and my kid is starting to get hangry, on top of being cold. I walk out again and ask how much longer, and again, no excuse or anything, just that it should'nt be much longer. We done ran out of books to read and shite to do by this time.
I finally just walked out about 10 minutes later. They called me like 15 minutes after i left asking where i went, all mad at me. I"m like, ive been here for over an hour, and my kid is starving, i couldn't wait any longer. Then they explain to me what was going on, that another kid was having an allergic reaction and they were dealing with that, trying to make me feel like a jackass. And i said, why couldn't you just tell me what was going on? i would understand, of course you should be tending to the kid having a serious medical condition, although that kid should have been at the hospital, not the doctors office, but i get it, but you never said any of that to me. I was honest about why i was getting tired of waiting, and it had nothing to do with my impatience, but that impatience of a hungry 6 month old child. Had you told me what was going on, i would have said let me go home real quick and get some milk and i'll be right back. it would take 10 minutes.

I’ve never left even though I waited 45 minutes once. My doctor has been great otherwise.
I schedule my appointments around the same time of day.
To answer your question, the longest I would wait would be an hour. They should provide better customer service and inform you that he’s running late due to patient needs or something to that affect.

15 minutes. Being on time is a massive pet peeve of mine. I take pride in not being late to meetings, appointments, or anything where someone else sets the time.
If I haven't been heard from someone on staff in 15 minutes, I leave and reschedule. I will not pay the rescheduling fee unless it is my fault that the rescheduling had to occur.

I went to the doctor. All he did was suck blood from my neck. Do not go see Dr. Acula

Only go to the Dr. once a year for a yearly check up.
Check my own blood pressure every 6 months, and get my own labs run every 6 months
Can self treat for anything else.

I had a doc who did that all the time. I found a new doc.

Opposite. I try to do the first appointment of the day with my regular Doc because he does 7am. I am usually in an out the door in 15-20 min

Here's the real problem. Doctors double book each time slot and then get behind and you're stuck waiting. I have a yearly urology appointment and I know once I get there it's going to be at least an hour wait if not longer. Problem is he is the best there is in town so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I had an "APPOINTMENT" yesterday to get my Covid shot at 9 am.
Three ladies come in and start fiddle f#$cking around at 9 am, there's 3 people in front of me BTW.
By 9:20 they are finally ready to see the first guy, he walks up and stands there for 10 more minutes while they Fiddle F$%Ck around some more.
They had three workers and four patients and didn't give enough shits to hurry up
I walked out

Have switched doctors after having the first appointment of the day and then still waiting 45 minutes. The kicker was they gave me an early morning appointment on Good Friday but closed the office and didn’t tell me. He was a good doc honestly but his office was a clown shown.

Why in the hell would you ever want to be treated by a physician that wasn't busy?

It depends what I’m seeing the doctor for. If it seems serious I’d probably wait a lot longer.

My clinic is regularly an hour behind. The reason I double and triple book is so patients can see me when they need to see me. I always accept add on. I have partners who run on time but have a 3 month wait to get in. If your hurting you need to be seen. Two sides to the story.
