Will likely pull l the start relay on his car in the morning.

My mom took my dad's car keys and gave him some useless ones. Also took all his credit cards away and gave him some dummy ones or old ones that were not valid.

What was worst though is the telemarketers that called multiple times a day and tried to sell him the Brooklyn Bridge and oceanfront property in AZ. They still had a land line and she tried to keep him from answering it but she couldnt get all of them. Telemarketers need to burn in hell for this.

The other doozy was my dad had an OCD thermostat fettish. He would adjust the thermostat in the LR and walk around the house and adjust it again 5 min later. If company was over he would ask us if we were cold and everyone would say NO. He would adjust it anyway. 5 min later... "Anybody Cold?"

Good luck with your dad and try to remember all the good times! Despite the Alz/Demetia my dad lived to 95.

the parish coroner office is actually the ones that can briefly commit the person for mental health evaluation
I did not know that.

My mom wanted to call the coroner for my aunt, to have her committed, who soon after drank herself to death at 36. My grandparents were in denial. It's possible the call to the coroner could have saved her life. Oh, the irony.

He had an Occidental that he doesn't remeber a few weeks ago. Where he tried to go to his ex girlfriends house. But he forget she moved. Well not moved. She had a mental break and was institutionalized. He forgot that whole ordeal. The police the courts everything. Well then be also forgot the brother that hates him lives there now. He goes there looking for her and brother calls the police. Police come to talk to him and leave.

But he has no recollection of talking to police.
Then after he did calm down he said he met some people last night about some business.
Then he tells me" I manage a lot of stuff, I made $20k" I told him you used to be a department manager but you retired over 15 years ago. He then said he had a job. I asked "at 2am last night with no phone?".
At this point I'm getting my aunts and uncles (including the ones I know are reading this: kinda why I posted here) and need to get him to get help.

Welcome to one of the shittiest clubs to join. Time to get that POA and control of the bank accounts before something really bad happens. Speaking from experience…
