Unless you have a mental illness, I would imagine everyone becomes a better version of themselves each day. But then there are things that happen that changes your perspective on life. It doesn't have to be anything big, but it can have a big impact on you.

huh?
as a kid I liked pizza . loved Pizza hut and Pizza Inn and would my own frozen Totinos pizza at home but ad cheese and pepperoni to it.
Then I got older and tried wood fired pizzas, and went to California Pizza kitchen in Vegas and I still like Pizza but now Ive tried other pizzas I like
its changed me to my core.
That in effect is what you just said. Thats not change.
its growth and new experiences.
Even when you have a semi intelligent question you're too stupid to answer it

I like you, O, and I believe you’re an intelligent and honest guy. It really bothers me the shite you get from some folks on here who seem to think beating you down will lift them up somehow. Just wanted you to know that.
To answer your question, I would say only today.

Then as I started to learn more about the games, I started to have an appreciate for the athletes, but was still a dedicated LSU & Saints
Well I mean some of us, like myself, were talking about real, fundamental, personal experience(s) that changed who we are as a person at our core.
And you're talking about how you like different sports now.
That's why you get shite upon so much. And I guess like it. Because you can't be fricking serious about sports viewing habits being what changed you from one person into another.

a loss of a child or death of any loved one. ( too many of us that post here have gone through that, I still to this day imagine who my unborn child might have been and the joys of fatherhood i will never experience) being a dad was the one thing I always wanted out of life even as other interests rose or fell.
A career change forced by circumstances like the dude that lost his job when the paper plant shut down ( geaux sport made jokes about that)
when youve trained your life to be an expert in an industry that ceases to exist due to economic forces well beyond your control that can be life altering
an illness or injury that means you have to give up a lifetimes hobby or interest ( even food you love can now kill you)
these and others are things we experience that can actually have a profound effect on our lives, yet the OP thinks expanding his appreciation for sports he will never play so he can't really appreciate the sacrifice athletic excellence requires. means he has some deep understanding of evolving as a person
When you have to sacrifice something by choice or by circumstances. that's an event that can change you. make you re-evaluate who you are or what you might want out of life
