How long do you think it would take your community to breakdown without necessities?

Some event eliminates power, or water, or similar. The amount of time it would take society to start breaking down where you live. Desperation, looting, lawlessness.

Based on my experiences 5 days max. Maybe more, less?

Here? A couple weeks. Cola isn't exactly a large city.

A big city like NYC or LA? As long as it takes for the liquor and weed to dry up.

shite really hits the fan when the first of the month hits and there's no gubmint check.

2 weeks maybe if we're talking complete meltdown. Especially if word comes out there is "no end in sight".

We saw how long it takes after katrina. I’m glad i don’t live in a big city for that reason. Imagine New York after 5 days after a cataclysmic event.

I think the general rule of thumb saying is that humans are 9 meals away from anarchy, so 3 days unless you're fat.

Does it happen in the winter or summer? People start losing their minds just when the internet stops working.

However long it takes people to miss their third meal in a row.

Less than 24.

I've seen some things that make me believe this is true, especially regarding food.

About 5 minutes after it becomes clear that there is no end in sight.

At that point, some people will start buying every bit of bottled water, ammo, canned food etc and as others see this the fear will spread like a viral video and the apocalypse will be on.
