He was getting really close to my walking date

This shite right here is why people hate women....

You weren't going anywhere. Did his attitude toward you change? Was he mean to you? Why would you leave someone you are willing and wanting to marry because he is in a different timeline. If you want him to propose to you that means you want to spend the rest of your life with him, but you are gonna throw that away because "I'm getting old".

"My timeline".... Jesus titty fricking Christ... Give me a break.

Awful. Just awful. This goes for you too Paige. Just be patient.

To be fair...I spent 9 years with a guy "waiting" to find out he never had any intention on marrying me. He gave me a ring and proposed to basically "buy more time" to hopefully convince me to his side of thinking on marriage(he never wanted to get married).

So, after going through that and wasting my 20s on someone that was feeding me lies the entire time, it is only natural that I would not be made a fool a second time around. My husband knew this pretty early on when we started dating. Also, I was mostly joking with my post. My husband and I had seriously discussed marriage a good bit the second/third year we were dating. At that time things were shaky at his work so he wanted to get a little more financially secure so he could afford a ring, etc. I think he had this number set in his head of how much he wanted to spend on my engagement ring and he didn't want to ask until he had saved that amount. I was the one to basically tell him I would rather us just be engaged and move forward together in life...that I didn't need nor expect an expensive ring. He's even admitted if things had been better financially then...he would have proposed much sooner than he did.

With the first, we dated for a year & were engaged for a year. Married 11.

With the current, we've been dating for 2 years, and I'm nowhere near ready to marry. I'd be fine with never marrying.

edit I can't recall how long we were engaged, just recall thinking I could've bought a decent duck boat for what I spent on that ring.
