4 years plus summer school to make up for all the semesters I dropped from 15 to 12 hours. I blame Murphy’s and sorostitues.

5. I’m 30 and still have dreams about failing my final courses and not graduating

My cousin went to school on the GI Bill. Took the minimum number of hours each semester to be a full time student, played in a band, and tended bar. He was 30 by the time he graduated, but he had a blast and made a 4.0 in industrial engineering.

I graduate next month... Appx 22 years after starting my first class.
Well first CONGRATS to you! It’s a great accomplishment and something to be proud of.

I began my undergrad in 1998 and withdrew in 2000 for a decent paying job when my student job could no longer pay the bills. Family situation was weird and I was paying my way from day one, working 36+ hours a week as a full-time student. Always said I’d go back after saving up enough and in 2005 I did just that. A few months into my first semester back, I got a full-time job at the school (UGA) and just took a class or two each semester, finishing up in 2011.....nine years later than planned. But it was worth it and there is much to be said about the perspective you bring to the classroom as an adult versus a wide-eyed kid straight out of high school. I appreciated it more. More than once I’ve been asked in a job interview what my greatest accomplishment has been and successfully returning to school and finishing what I started has always been the first thing to pop into my mind.
TLDR: 8 years (13 if you count the hiatus)

8 years.....but I was graduated in a 5 year curriculum and ran track & cross country so didn't matriculate for 2 or 3 years.

4.5 years with a degree change. I was ready to leave when I graduated. Looking back I wish I had stayed that last spring semester...would’ve been fun to take an easy course load and watch baseball games. Instead I went into the Army...

5 only because I was athlete and had 2 shoulder surgeries and an ankle surgery. I had to drop down hours a few times and then go to summer school to make up. I hated summer school
