My wife stopped using BC pills after 8 years of being on them about 2 weeks ago right before her period. She got off her period last Friday. I never pull out. What's the chances of expecting a baby?

Whoa whoa whoa brah on all the frickin period talk.

God damn.

Have the sperm receptacle talk to her OBGYN for Christ's sake.

Yes but did she take them the same time of day every day?

Did she drink lots of grapefruit juice?
Was she on any antibiotics?

Those are things that can affect effectiveness of the pill.

When taking properly, the pill is highly effective. Women who get pregnant while on the pill just didn't take it properly.

I was being facetious. She "might have forgot a day or two".

Gotcha

It is crazy the stuff that can affect the pill. I was serious about the grapefruit juice. Certain birth control pills are less effective if the woman eats a lot of grapefruit or drinks grapefruit juice.

It took us a year, though she was using a hormonal IUD rather than OCP before we started trying.

I don't know what it is about grapefruits. Not BC, but another medication I am on says not to eat grapefruits while taking it.

One of the first things I did after I got off the pill.

Bought some ruby red grapefruit juice and enjoyed a large glass.

I love grapefruit and had been avoiding it for years.

But yeah.....no idea why grapefruit and certain meds don't mix

Surprisingly fast - about 2 months. A little shock to both of us as we were thinking 6-12 months.

About 8 months, but my travel schedule was not lining up with her ovulation schedule, but once I was home for a decent stretch I think it took about 2 months which might have been a god send because while having sex is great, doing that shite with military precision based on some chart got to be about as bad as work and takes the fun out of it.
