Currently we could live 2-3 years with neither of us working and keeping our same lifestyle.

Does the wife have to quit as well. We could live off one salary forever.
If both were out of work, we could stretch it a decade or two if we moved back to the country.
It helps to come from humble beginnings.

If it were just me, probably the same as you (only touching the checking account). Including my wife's checking that'd stretch it to about 2 years. I am very thankful and fortunate to be in such a situation considering my upbringing and where I came from.

A few years. Many if I cut spending to bare bones

I’ve heard you can like like a king in Thailand for like 5-6k a year

Indefinitely thanks to pension but it would be no-frills. Like taking the bus, eating lots of beans and rice, 1 bedroom apt level frugal. But I could do it.

pretty much doing mine just because I love it and the end is near(mandatory retirement,) I've been very fortunate with some investments that I've made, I enjoy the hell out of my job and my life, but I'm not super extravagant, I could have pulled the plug years ago, just not going to do it yet

I could probably bridge myself to retirement, but i would have to cut back some to be safe.

I did, but received severance under a deal after two offers to stay. Doing fine doing nothing! Basically retired.

I’m 58 and could probably make it until death. But I enjoy my job and coworkers most days so I’ll probably work another couple years.

If I spend retirement savings, a couple years.
If I don’t, 2 months
I have a wife who makes barely any money and a baby.
