There's also a big difference between when you try to start dating and if you just randomly meet someone. I mean if your spouse dies and you meet someone in the grocery store a couple weeks after, I don't see the harm?
If you get on tinder in a couple weeks, somewhat different.

I'd say it's up to the widow/widower to decide when he/she is ready to start dating and it's nobody's business but theirs.

Spleen, that's correct.
I lost my wife early in '18. A great, great woman. But she gave me permission to remarry before she died. I will always love her. It looks like I'm headed to the altar again. There's plenty enough love to go around.

An old classmate’s husband committed suicide. She called me two weeks later wanting to know if I was single. I lied and told her I was dating a woman and it was serious. I wanted no part of that ticking time bomb.

Everyone does things different. I know it would take me a long while to date someone..... but that’s just me.
