I mean, I filled up my mom bus on Monday in BR, and it was $99 for regular. Diesel is much higher.

You could start by remote monitoring your employees to weed out the unproductive ones and getting rid of your expensive office building.
This is exactly what my firm is doing. We are in the process of downsizing several of our offices in major cities.
Wife was in a call yesterday about strategies for her company to offset gas prices either through more WFH days or possibly paying a temporary mileage bonus. They're starting to lose key employees, especially on the west coast, to full time WFH opportunities even if it's a salary cut due to the overall cost of commuting.

^this. Right now all across the country millions of Americans are hopefully coming to realize basing their vote on propaganda driven emotion is a bad idea.

It’s about $80 to fill up my vehicle. It really hits.

That twitter user is wearing boots and lives in Arkansas, so he definitely has a truck.
I filled my Tundra this morning in Atlanta area and it was almost $90.

And you can downgrade to a Tacoma but that won’t help you consume substantially less fuel.

Not if your costs have gone up. If he was making $20 per lawn and is still making $20 per lawn, losing 25% of your business isn't more money for less work.
This is not really a fair comparison.. I understand costs have gone up. That’s beside the point. The costs are what they are.
At these inflated costs, he now brings in more revenue by charging $65 instead of $35-$40 if he’s only losing 25% of customers.
If anything, costs are lower in this scenario (fewer yards, less travel to get to the yards).
I am not trying to turn this into a math argument. I get that his business is struggling, the tweet in OP was just a poor way to try and indicate that.

Nah, if you live below enough. Inflation doubles and now you are AT your means.

Carter was taken advantage of because he tried to please everyone and be the nice guy that he was.
Biden is taken advantage of because he's a fricking potato.

Going from charging $35-$40 up to $65 and only losing 25% of customers? That’s less work for more money..
More gross revenue but not necessarily more profit. Let’s say at 40 dollars he profited 20 dollars a yard after labor, equipment, fuel etc costs. He had 20 yards a week for 400 dollars a week income. Then inflation made costs jump to 40 dollars a yard so he raised prices to 65 to keep his current income level plus 5 dollars a yard for inflation on personal expenses. Then he loses 5 yards. Now he makes 375 in income at 25 dollar profit on 15 yards. If he raises more he could lose more yards. His only hope would be to work more and undercut his competitors and gain more yards by cutting his profit per yard. Even then people may not be willing to pay 50 or 55 dollars for that to work.

And many, MANY of those will still vote democrat again in 2022 and 2024. They’re stupid and I don’t feel sorry for them whatsoever. In fact, those are the ones who deserve what’s happening right now.

Never forget. Washington DC, and state capitals are ivory towers. They are not impacted by the economy because they don't pay for their own meals, homes or services. All they do is consume, consume, consume.

I’m calling bullshite on this unless you have something like a 1978 Subaru Brat. Most modern trucks have a 20+ gallon tank. I have 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn. I filled up last night when my fuel light came on. Gas was $4.15 per gallon and it took just over 22 gallons to fill up. Total was $95 and change.
quote:
Why would a lawn service almost double their lawn mowing prices because gas went up $.60-80
Because her biggest expense for him is fuel dumbass.
quote:
Will they lower the price when gas prices go down? I highly doubt it.
You obviously know nothing about how market factors work.
quote:
I can see raising your minimum for new customers but going from $30 to $65 is ridiculous. Businesses are starting to price gauge and blaming it on the price of gas.
Ignorant Idiots like you are why this country is going to compete dog shite.

was thinking about that the other day. When they do legitimize a social credit score in this country, your voting record should be tied to it. So when you go to swipe your credit card at the pump, if you voted for Trump, you pay $2 a gallon. If you voted for a 3rd party clown like me, you pay $4. If you voted for Biden, you pay $6.
Those who would implement a social credit score ain’t rewarding you for voting for Trump baw

You would think, but no. People are blinded by their ideology to the suffering of the economic factors around them. My FIL could be on his last dime, but he would still vote for Biden over any republican regardless of whether or not he was starving.
