I'd think it is super important, not only for the man, but also for the woman to have the support.

Are we talking as a black man or as a white man?

Danny Willett is one of the best European golfers in the world. This won't be his only shot at Augusta. You only have ONE chance to see you firstborn child enter the world.
If his playing golf meant the difference in his family eating or not, you play golf. Otherwise, go be with your family.
OP, do you have kids? Were you there when they were born? If yes, would you trade that for anything?

Here is what you don't realize: often those little bastards grow up to be disrespectful and cause you a lot of grief. Ask Greg Norman if you should take Augusta for granted. His wife should have told him go chase history, and bring home a green jacket, especially if he is as good as you say. But seriously how big a dumbass do you think he would be if he missed his baby's birth and didn't make the cut?

Some would say these are both personal exploits...so why not do one that can benefit the family and the child's future more....

If you think that's crazy, think of the lack of caring between the feelings between the first and the third kid...

Did Greg Norman melt down multiple times at Augusta because of an impending birth of a child?
Im a pretty big golf fan. I've never heard the angle that he blew it because his wife was expecting.

No but you never know if you are going to be in contention ever again. Making the field is not a given and playing well is not easy. Look at Day, he was -5 and finished even. Augusta is a tough nut to crack. I would never miss an opportunity to compete for golf's greatest price. It is an invitational and you don't have to worry about someone coming from 4 groups back on Sunday. The chance to win could be a life changer. It has literally changed so many champion's lives.

Probably because they don't want their men seeing ripped apart vaginas full of blood, terds, and baby fluids.

I kinda figured that's what it was all about.

I really know a guy that could never mount his wife without thinking of the birth canal. Plus he said she was too loose after that. He had to go to a shrink. However this story has a happy ending because after their 3rd kid the OBYN sewed her vagina too small and he said she was like a virgin again.

I wanted to go Old School, talked about it and got the approval of the Lady, and all was well. She birthed the baby with her mom and sister in the room. I paced the floors, drank bourbon and smokes cigars with my boys. All was well.

Worked for us. I wouldn't chastise anyone for their choices and wouldn't expect them to deride mine.

I would never forgive myself if I missed it. Nothing about work is that important.

That being said, it's like a welder's arc or the Ark of the Covenant's ghosts...don't look directly at it during the event.

Don't worry, no woman wants you to father her child. I think if I found myself in that situation, I might even become pro abortion.

ETA: and yes, unless you're deployed or an abusive drunk deadbeat that no one wants in their life, by all means, hustle yourself to the delivery room. If you can't handle the awful sights, stay up at shoulder level. Your wife probably has little desire for you to be snooping around down there anyway.
