The ability of some of that crew, (community leaders and elected officials), to rush so blindly to defend someone when they dont have all facts or evidence continues to amaze me.

Same way al sharpton and Jessie Jackson do, obviously to a much much lesser extent. Some people pay him to "represent" them in the black community and it's more of a pay off to not get on his bad side. Ask me how I know this. He is probably #2 in the top 5 of pieces of shite in Baton Rouge currently
You know for a fact people pay him? What exactly do you get by him representing you? Does he have that much power within his community?

Those 45 minute response times give you plenty of opportunity to reorganize the crime scene too.

It's not really amazing. They all have a central purpose. Money and power. They won't turn on each other unless there's an indictment.

I think a lot of people were excited about BR's future until Broome got elected. Once she and Bodi got in a runoff, she was the only real choice for people who live in the BR city limits who didn't want their tax dollars going to the burbs. Unfortunately, her true colors were revealed once she allied herself with the race baiters.

My guess is that he gets paid a salary/per diem by a lobbyist firm or grassroots organization. On top of that I'm sure he sells t-shirts and other memorabilia.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if he was manipulated in some instances. In other instances I'm sure he's looking to build his brand.
Example, company A is worried about company B taking market share in NBR for whatever product. Some event happens that has "potential" to disrupt company B from taking this market share. Someone makes a story or case and tells people like Gary about it.

You saw how quick sammys was to distance themselves from judge Erwin during that cluster, the only reason they did this was to make sure they were not on the wrong side of gravy chambers so yea north of Florida Blvd he carries a lot of weight and not just around his mid section.

If she hasn't blocked you yet, you're doing something wrong. Anyone who points out her hypocrisy or takes a different view, no matter the relevant or valid points, she deletes and blocks. She's the biggest count I've ever come across. I don't/can't follow anymore myself but my wife and her (mostly black) coworkers follow her for the lulz and gossip. Black people really do hate her.

He's on the Weston-Broome Transition Team, believe it or not.

I met a failed mayoral candidate the other day and he said that Gary was a paid lobbyist for certain companies. That hospital that wanted to build in North Baton Rouge supposedly had given him a good chunk of change for his efforts.
If this is true, that is pathetic. All he does is sell himself as being someone who represents the "black voice" in the baton rouge community. His perceived value is based on the idea he controls the votes in certain areas. But I wonder how much control he really has?
Its not like every black person, who is able to vote, checked with Gary to see what they should vote for. If you talk with the average black dude in Baton Rouge, I bet he is more likely not to support Gary. You don't hear about the black people who says "I don't need someone telling me what I need to vote for or what is best for me".
Part of the problem is that people who give him money sees the black community as a whole. And by giving him money only motivates him more to "be the voice".
