Looking at the FB comments on his latest blog post it seems like most people are calling him out.

He only endorsed her because Bodi wanted to pretty much divert all of the city/parish money from downtown development to suburban infrastructure. Downtown's revitalization is Deryll's life's work. He wasn't going to see that undone. SWB was supposed to be a moderate, business-friendly black cabdidate in the the mold of Kip, but she took a hard BLM turn in the runoff because she needed Denice Marcelle and Gary Chambers's support to put her over the top against White.
Now, the business community is having serious buyer's remorse, but are afraid to speak out about it or else face the wrath of the new regime, and are just hoping SWB won't completely derail their downtown and Nicholson Corridor plans.

So I asked if he was so certain, how come he didn't take it to the advocate, he kinda crawfished and just said there was no paper trail. Nice guy though, but he didn't care for Gary.

My folks voted for Gissel. I think that Darryl backed the candidate who he thought was the lesser of two evils. Now, instead of going out to the burbs, those taxpayer dollars slated for downtown/mid city redevelopment will be wasted in north BR.

I voted for Gissel as well. He was the only non-sh$tty human being running. I understand why he backed who he did, but it seems like he was screwed either way. Bodi may have at least been less of a disaster on crime, but he seemed no less corrupt.

I'm stuck here for at least another year. I was really excited with the direction BR was going in up until last summer. Now, with the way things have been going in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Ascension Parish, I may have to pray for a job in Lafayette or just resign myself to having to abandon my home state and migrate elsewhere for a while.
I'd be happy to leave behind my family, but would definitely miss my friends and band, the food, and my wife would really miss her family as well.

Right there with you bro, but luckily at my age I have to take a good portion of the family with me. But I'm heading to greener pastures with more promising work, real estate, and Wilco playing there every other year. Suck my balls br, suck my white privileged balls.
