How does an IPhone know where my car is parked?

I recently updated the operating system on my phone. the updates contained some widgets and one of them tells me where my car is parked pretty much anytime. How the hell does the phone know where my car is parked? I have been checking on this and it is pretty accurate.

Because they're always watching

Some nerd wrote a new algorithm and you opted into location services. Not much of a mystery

It GPS tracks you 24/7 if you start moving over 10 kph and then stop it assumes you drove and then parked

Maybe it tracks your speed and location and puts a little marker where the speed stops. It can possibly tell the difference between driving and walking.

is it because you live out of your car?

Speed determined by your GPS signal let it know when you stopped your car and began walking.

I suppose that could be it....I'll have to check after I ride somewhere with someone else to see if it still gives me the location of my own car or not. I was thinking there was something going on with the Sync software in the vehicle, but maybe not.

Much to the disappointment to the conspiracy theorists it only works because you have your phone connected to Bluetooth. It registers the last known location you were connected.

Because you touch yourself.
Or some IT, Smart Phone, Bluetooth shite...

Because you go from walking to moving 30mph. It assumes you're in a vehicle.

Ha this would never work in Baton Rouge

I hear drilling a hole in the bottom of the phone solves some of these issues?

If you would like to turn it off, tap on Settings, Privacy, Location Services, scroll to the bottom and toggle Frequent Locations to Off.

More than likely it's not bluetooth. It could be using technology such as iBeacons but it's highly unlikely.
The more likely reasons in order of probability are GPS tracking, geolocating Wi-Fi networks (even attempting to connect without you accepting will tag you), and cell service triangulation.

It took until 2016 for apple to put this into their phones?
