jesus some of yall are retarded
and ftr violent crime is still way down in general compared to the 70s/80s/90s its just that with social media and the 24 hour news cycle we are more aware of it now.

higher wages, affordable housing, cheap or free education, especially in the trades. Keep people working with good wages and ensure there is no unemployment among able bodied young men. Death Penalty for drug dealers.

Longterm solution
get rid of policy's that create incentives undermining the family unit...
create policy's that reward a healthy functioning family unit...
Short term..
law enforcement/judicial application of the law to incarcerate..
Create paths to give opportunity for those willing to rehab...

That's what I'm saying. Either leave it alone and cultivate a better culture, which is the ultimate cure.
Ot if we continue involvement in drug matters, and perhaps the state has a vested interest in same, then treat it as the health crisis it is and not as standalone crime.
Only alternative is scorched earth. But that hasn't worked...

Wrong meathead. All these lib metro areas are seeing 25-40 year highs in murder rates which are comparable to the era’s you reference. The good old days are back and the rates are not going down. Couple that with the fact more and more police are leaving/being defunded from these shitholes with SJW DA’s and you think it gets better? I know liberals aren’t good at slippery slopes but let me tell you how this plays out. It’s going to get much much worse before it gets better.

This is not an easy fix.
It's taken 60 years to destroy the minority family unit (Which was historically a very strong "Family" unit) until the southern democrats in the 50's and 60's decided to make it profitable for no male over the age of 18 to remain on the homes with their welfare program.
If you start now, with the same mentality they did that but only do it in reverse you're looking at seeing solid change in about 2084.
People today don't have the commitment or attention span to see that through.
It's no longer a money problem or education problem (Though those things contribute to the destitute problems in the inner cities).
It's a cultural problem ingrained in the DNA of those in inner city poverty.
The skeptic in me says there's no hope for anyone over the age of 5 years old and under the age of 70 years old and that only euthanization of that whole population is the only thing that may save the 5 year old and under populating and give them a fighting chance at a better life.
That's an unrealistic and frankly a very hard solution to think about.
But for the sake of argument let's say you remove that demography (69 yo to 6 yo) then focus monetary resources on supporting the adoptions of the 5 and under group into good two parent (Male/Female - Biologically) homes and also taking care of the 70 and older group 100% for the remainder of their lives in as much lavish as humanly possible for them.
I really don't know if that would be a best case scenario or a nightmare scenario but nothing short of radial change will ever work to change the trajectory of these unfortunate children's lives.
