Poison every gram confiscated and put it back on the street.

You'll have to repeat every 7 years because you will never stop the supply, and you'll never stop the demand.

Both have to be attacked simultaneously and the argument is always which one to focus on. But it won't stop it the best you can hope for is a pax drugoma where you get brief periods to rebuild and hopefully accelerate economic growth where the demand (and thus supply in conjunction) is organically retarded so the wiping clean every 7 years is either less severe or can be extended out and done less frequently.

ETA: one of my pet peeves of our society is when something is made "illegal" but not codified. In other words, use administrative means to punish behavior that no legislature had the balls to put pen to paper on. The same is true of the reverse. To put pen to paper to make something illegal but not enforce it evenly allows law enforcement the latitude to selective target law breakers. Both are the definition of corruption in a Republic. Our war on drugs is corrupt using that definition. You have to pick one- illegal and enforced, or don't make it illegal.

They already have complete control over this. No one is forcing them to get pregnant. Part of the reason we are where we’re at is people not facing consequences for their actions in the first place.

Legalize the drugs to get rid of the black market. Use a tax on the products to fund rehab centers for those seeking treatment.

The drug users do not seem to have an issue buying them illegally so what have we really accomplished other than create a flourishing illegal drug market.

The USA is a welfare state that hands out free money to those that do not want to work. Nature doesn’t work like that…. Work if you want to eat.. Cut off that pipeline of free cash and it cleans up quickly, and forces people to get their act together and get a job.

There should also be designated trailer park communities way out in the country, away from the inner city. That a way the drug addicts and gangs can live cheap and get high together, and keeps inner cities clean.. It would also be easily monitored by police, while keeping the inner city safe and making it a good place for the hard workers to engage in business.

The hard truth is that there are people who would rather get a cheap government check and do drugs with that money, than work a honest days job. Keep them separated.

I think incentivizing the mother and father to stay together would be a great first step.

This is a good idea, but how would it work? We already give tax breaks to married couples, would be interested to hear your idea of how to incentivize a nuclear family staying together. Something like the inverse of welfare?

We have had unfettered access to contraceptives for the last 50 years and it has helped lead to the boom in fatherless households nationwide.

It’s almost like when the consequences of sex were hidden and mostly removed people started having more and suddenly we had an explosion in bastard children.

What we need to do is incentivize marriage, incentivize not having kids before or outside of marriage, and actually penalize the opposite

If you’re on welfare, you do not get extra money per kid. If you’re in welfare, you don’t get more money for being a single mom. If you’re a male on welfare, vasectomy.

Institute a fast and swift death penalty, regardless of age. You kill, you die. Values of old. Adopt Singapore's drug laws. You use, or distribute drugs, you get the death penalty.

Wall it off with a couple day notice and the elderly assisted to leave. Then seal it up and let nature runs its course.

It won't ever change until parents start taking responsibility for their kids and raising them in a wholesome two parent household that focuses on family and education.

No amount of money or police presence will fix the problem

That is the only way it gets fixed. It will take generations to fix it but that is the only way

Everyone knows this, but that doesn't actually answer the question in the thread title, how?

At this point, it's not just going to start happening on some massive level. It needs to be forced, or it will continue and get worse.

Bad kids in schools causing disruptions to the other kids at least wanting to learn, need to get separated and put into some environment that is more forceful. Need to look at that kids home, is it truly a bad kid (doubtful), and see about the parents. Maybe both parents are there and just need some help/push with being better parents. If one or both of the parents are some serious frick upset, missing altogether from the kids life, etc., then maybe some jail time is appropriate for child neglect.

At the adult level, need to do away with these light on crime DAs, mayor's, etc. There should be certain minimum criteria to be in elected positions and not just getting the most votes. I'm not saying to block politics from one side or the other, I'm saying we need to prevent dumbasses and truly inept people from being in power (Nola has a great example). Some base level minimum criteria could have easily prevented destroya from getting in office. Anyways, the loint is you need someone who will push for and support a strong/clean city. Lock up thugs for hard drugs and crimes, let police do their job with confidence that they won't arrest the same a-hole the very next day.

Etc, etc, etc. There's a shite ton of things that can be done.
In summary, it needs to start at the home, but it's not going to, so it needs to be forced/helped for a while. Need to actually do things to prevent the bad apples from continuing to poison society. All these shithole cities allow drugs/crime to exist and thugs to run wild and free. Lock all that shite up and be extremely tough on it with max sentences and it will clean up a lot of the mess. We need more prisons to house these animals and the prisons should not be an okay life.

This makes the appeal process a little dicey

Do we really want to model our laws/punishment after Singapore ?
