I'm 61 and live in California. Young guys say at stores call me boss all the time, (just don't call me dude).

I've noticed a few things about those who do it: always well spoken, in good humor, visibly middle-class, and are not interracial.
True. I've never really thought about it. But my dad is Big Boss Man and I've always been Little Boss Man. But the above description is true. I've never really thought of racial connotations. It's always seemed to be almost a term of endearment to some degree. I don't think they'd say it to someone they didn't like. And it's never in a smart arse manner.

Calling you boss is different than saying "the bossman"

Never gave it much thought and if it did I would have been over thinking it.
However, it would probably make me uncomfortable if the same person on a regular basis did it.

Does this usually happen when you're walking into the Big House?

In my neck of the woods, I get an occasional "bossman", but it's usually "cap'n". It doesn't bother me. I return a greeting and all is well, and I never think twice about it.

You speaking like there are no blacks here or their convo and thoughts are nonexistent. Stupid as frick but there are many like you here and you wont get the backlash you fricks deserve. This Reboleke gets it but you'll get the bait you want. Reword your shite or get the frick out. It sounds offensive as hell.

I'm trying to decide if you're a racist or a troll...
If you are a troll, well played.
If you are attempting to play the race card, I regret to inform you that my wife is biracial. As a result, your card is DECLINED.

I may be coming off a bit aggressive but I wouldnt care if your wife was the blackest woman from Africa, deep east asia, south of the US or anywhere else in the world. My point still stands. Neither do I care whether you're racist or not. I got a problem with how you plastered your thought like you did.

I'm black, and other black men have called me "boss man". It's not a racial thing.

Better than when he calls me "cracker".

I thought "bossman" was a well known term from that age range, white and black, down south.
