Schedule an appointment with a doctor and get a recommendation for a good counselor.
Also remember that there are people that love you and would be devastated to lose you. Doesn’t always seem that way but it’s true.

turn your hopelessness into skepticism and apathy and then poke fun at it. be a jaded motherf*cker... because you are!
usually the most depressed people are some of the "humorous," in their own special, unique kind of way. many many comedians have depression problems.
that's how i do it, but i'm not a funny guy. i can't ever see myself pretending "enough" that life isn't a hopeless grind that kills me and, most importantly, the people i love. i've made this mindset work for me: life is f*cky. so don't pretend it's not. embrace it, and most importantly when you've found one of the "funny little truths to life," SPEAK IT OUT LOUD to yourself and others who'll listen to it. speaking it makes it real to you.
you've a gift of seeing the world through a lense that most others, thankfully for them, cannot see it in -embrace that. life is not about being happy, and you know that or you wouldn't be without any hope or will to carry on; it's just that we've been cursed with that reality early on, i.e., before the chapters of our life were deemed ready for the realization.
don't do it. dwell on it, but don't do it, but dwell on it and pick it apart and analyze the inevitable and then be jaded about it. it's your lot in life to be jaded. it's your strength and your weakness.
but don't do it. we've much to learn from a man or woman who looks at life as a futility, at best.
but don't do it. whatever you do, don't do it. don't put your own blood on your hands for a weakness that really was, all along, a strength.
you're not a happy-go-lucky person, embrace that. embrace it. it is your lot in life to see the futility of life; now do your best to help educate the others who are drunk on the lie that their life is all about their own happiness that is there for the taking. you and i and MANY others know that is a sad, pitiful little lie.
that's how i deal with it.

I look at, think about, my 6 year old and dont want him going through life without a father and having to explain to his friends what his father did. I'm also the ok only family my mother has left who relocated from western ny and dont want to leave her stranded either. But my 6 yo is my true rock that gets me thru.

Go see a doctor. Go to your regular doc. If he wants to refer you to a psychiatrist, he can do so.

Man this is how I feel, I got a big arse ax to grind with a lot of people from these last few years of my life and all the time in the world to get it done. Leaving this world early would leave to much unfinished business that needs to be taken care of.
